First Blog, The closest thing to the ‘magic pill’

I thought it was time i got round to writing my first blog for my website, so here goes…

As a personal trainer i am always being asked about the best exercise for this or the worst food for that. Most people i bump into are after that illusive ‘magic pill’ to achieve their goals faster and easier. Im sorry but if you did not know, it doesn’t exist. But there is a magic pill in the form of Fish oil, no it will not get you a six pack in 4 weeks or allow you to eat whatever you like and still lose weight. There are however many benefits to taking this amazing supplement, let me give you a few…

  1. Has positive effects on any disease known to man. Fish oils have been shown to have medical applications in the treatment of a wide variety of ailments including hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, hypertension, stroke, bipolar disorder… to name a few.
  2. Cell membrane health. Eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid make sure cell membranes remain healthy. The cell membranes will remain flexible and will contain more insulin receptors. This means decreased body fat storage due to the body circulating insulin better.
  3. Reduced inflammation from physical activity. Therefore immune system function will be improved.
  4. Increased Serotonin levels. Which in turn decrease incidence of anxiety, depression and reduced carb cravings.
  5. Fish oils mitigate insulin response. Therefore blood sugar wont rise as quickly and is less likely to be stored as fat.

So there is my top 5 reasons EVERYBODY should be taking fish oil regardless of your health and fitness goals. Make sure its a high quality fish oil and take it with all main meals.
