The benefits of Coffee

There are a number of health benefits to your morning cup of Joe, let me give you a few.

Before I do let me explain this article relates to fresh ground high quality beans, not crappy instant coffee! Thats just poison.

1. Caffeine can improve mood, energy levels and exercise performance. By increasing adrenaline levels in the blood and stimulating the nervous system, physical performance can be increased by 11-12%

2. Essential nutrients found in coffee:

Riboflavin
Pantothenic Acid
Manganese and Potassium
Magnesium and niacin

3. Studies show that people who drink coffee have a 23-50% lower risk of type 2 diabetes

4. Lowers the risk of liver and colorectal cancer

5. Coffee contains a massive amount of antioxidants. Make sure you use fresh ground beans that have been kept in the fridge to get the most antioxidants.

These are just a few benefits to coffee, the ideal amount would be 1-3 cups a day. More than that will have a detrimental effect, also you will not feel the effects from the caffeine as you become tolerant too it. I suggest taking a week off of drinking coffee a few times a year, this will give your adrenals a break and keep the effects more prominent. If you don’t think you could go a week without coffee… you have a problem!

Coffee should be drunk black ideally, you can look into adding in butter or MCT oil to make it a “bulletproof coffee” but that very much depends on many other factors that I do not have time to cover here. Lattes are a NO NO!!!
